Exceptional Grand Prairie Teen Named ‘Youth Of The Year’ By BGCD

Christina Emetoh has been named the Youth of the Year by Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas (BGCD). The Youth of the Year title is a prestigious honor bestowed upon an exemplary young person in recognition of leadership, service, academic excellence, dedication to live a healthy lifestyle, and life and workforce readiness.

Now in its 78th year, the Youth of the Year program honors our nation’s most awe-inspiring young people on their path to great futures. In Spring 2026, Christina will go on to vie for the Texas Youth of the Year title and a $2,500 college scholarship.

“Christina is a shining example of the strength, resilience, and leadership that define Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas,” said Debra Taylor, BGCD’s Interim President & CEO.  “She embodies our core values through her commitment to academic excellence, service to others, and unwavering dedication to personal growth. We are proud to honor her as our Youth of the Year and celebrate the bright future she represents.”

Through her active involvement in Keystone, a teen leadership development program, she has developed strong skills and a deep passion for community service, while also thriving academically. Her love for fashion has been encouraged and elevated through unique opportunities provided by BGCD corporate partners like Neiman Marcus, helping her dream big.

If Christina is named the 2026 Texas Youth of the Year, she will compete for the title of Southwest Regional Youth of the Year who will receive an additional $20,000 college scholarship.
