Collegiate STEPs is a college preparatory program that pairs members with a mentor that guides them through the process of applying for scholarships and college, while providing SAT/ ACT prep. Sessions are held every other Monday evening and facilitated in collaboration with the Junior League of Dallas (JLD). Participants gain access to in-person and virtual college tours and junior and seniors are paired with JLD mentors.
For: Ages 14-18
The Keystone Club provides young people with opportunities for growth that are based on the needs and interests of teens: a small group experience, a skilled adult, service to others, and self-planned events.
Keystone affords teens an opportunity to gain valuable leadership and service experience. Teens conduct activities in four areas: academic success, career exploration, community service, and teen outreach.
For: All Ages
Sessions are designed to build essential skills in members interested in finding success in the world of work. This program emphasizes the development of work maturity skills such as problem-solving, working with others, managing conflict, communication, and developing leadership skills. It also focuses on workforce readiness, including career workshops, mock interviews, and job shadowing.
Workforce readiness is an evidence-informed approach that puts holistic skill development and career exposure at the forefront of each Club member’s experience. The goal is to provide all youth, from age six through their teen years, with the knowledge, skills, and learning experiences they need to succeed in life and work.
For: High School
Each year, one exceptional young person from a Boys & Girls Club rises to the role of National Youth of the Year. The National Youth of the Year serves as both an exemplary ambassador for Boys & Girls Club youth and as a strong voice for all of our nation’s young people. The journey to being named National Youth of the Year begins locally and progresses to state, regional, and national levels.
